AceShowbiz - In a fresh chapter for the iconic dance competition show, "Dance Moms: A New Era" premieres on Hulu on August 7. While staying true to its roots, the reboot introduces a new coach, Gloria Hampton a.k.a. Glo, who is intent on leading Studio Bleu Dance Center to victory.
Hampton's desire for dance excellence is evident as she describes her ambition to "win a national title... it starts today." Despite recognizing the "big shoes to fill" left by former coach Abby Lee Miller, Hampton brings her own unique approach to the role.
"I often find I get results simply with a look," she explains. "My eyes say it all and my students feeling as if they have disappointed me is much more motivating than me yelling at them."
While Hampton shares Miller's passion for dance, she also aims to navigate the challenges of working with the dance moms differently. "I have incredible dancers with star potential but their mothers continue to drive me insane day in and day out," she reveals. "I'm the expert and I always make sure they remember that."
Despite Miller's initial reluctance to make a cameo in the new series, Hampton remains grateful for her predecessor's influence. "Abby was the trailblazer for this show," she says. "I would love to have had her involved in some way."
"Dance Moms: A New Era" promises to bring the same gripping behind-the-scenes drama, fierce competition, and extraordinary dance performances that made the original series a fan favorite.
