AceShowbiz - Josh Hall, 43, has taken to Instagram to express his grief over the loss of his longtime friend, Gonzalo Galvez. Galvez, a fellow law enforcement officer, passed away from cancer on August 6, 2024.
Hall met Galvez while both were deputies with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. He described Galvez as "an absolute living legend who left everyone that came into contact with him inspired."
"He wasn't famous or rich, but what he was, was a once-in-a-lifetime human," Hall wrote. "He introduced me to a group of guys that I would end up forming lifelong bonds with."
In his tribute, Hall recalled Galvez's optimism and determination even in his final days. "Every once in a while, he would lift his head up and share a laugh or ask if we were okay," Hall said.
Hall also shared that he and his friends took turns staying by Galvez's bedside during his final weeks. "The boys all came together from all over to be there for your final breaths," he wrote. "We aren't going anywhere."
Galvez's final words to Hall were, "I love you Josh, it's going to be okay." Hall reciprocated his love and expressed his sorrow.
Hall's announcement comes amid his ongoing divorce from estranged wife Christina Hall (Christina El Moussa), which he filed for last month citing "irreconcilable differences." Sources have confirmed to People that filming has resumed on the HGTV series "The Flip Off", which was to feature Josh, Christina, her ex-husband Tarek El Moussa, and Tarek's wife Heather Rae Young, without Josh.
In a recent Instagram post, Hall asked for privacy regarding his divorce. "We are real humans, this is our life, and I am not here to entertain people I don't know with my private matters," he wrote.
