She penned, "Oh well. good music is good music and i hope you enjoy." She was replying to a tweet that read, "It's finna flop bc she did this so randomly."
A screenshot of Chloe's reaction was shared by a blog via Instagram on Monday, August 5. It prompted social media users to voice their thoughts on her forthcoming set. In the comments section, one in particular penned, "I mean...she didn't lie. She's not Beyonce lol You need to promote your album. I had no idea she just dropped smh," making a reference to Beyonce Knowles.
Meanwhile, other users showed their support for Chloe. One of them wrote, "Chloe's album sales are similar to what her group sold, starred in a movie on peacock, went on tour, had a role in a horror film, became an aunt and just landed another starring role in a another horror film. If that's a flop, I wanna be one too!! Keep shining @chloebailey."
Another user praised the songstress, "More artists should be like this, just drop good music. Don't be too worried about sales and the negativity from social media." A third noted, "Y'all equate quantity to quality, a lot of artist that are doing numbers have TRASH music! Don't be fooled!"
The "flop" comment came shortly after Chloe broke the news about her highly-anticipated sophomore album. On Monday, August 5, she announced that "Trouble in Paradise" is set to be released on August 9 via Parkwood Entertainment and Columbia Records. The album will feature guest appearances from fellow artists, including Anderson .Paak, Jeremih and Chloe's sister Halle Bailey.
