Singer-songwriter Victoria Canal took to social media to address the recent flurry of rumors suggesting a romantic link with Hollywood actor Tom Cruise, clarifying the nature of their relationship.

On August 5, Canal quashed these rumors with an Instagram post stating, "Guys, this is literally bonkers, but apparently the tabloids think I am dating Tom Cruise. I'm deceased."
She made it clear, "Let's just stop this in its tracks. I'm sorry to bum u out but I am not dating the man, albeit a lovely person & artist. lol never thought I would have to clarify that out loud in my life."
The rumors began after Canal and Cruise were seen traveling together in a helicopter, piloted by Cruise himself. Another noteworthy encounter at the Glastonbury Festival, where Canal performed with Coldplay, added fuel to the fire.
Canal explained how her connection with Cruise began at Glastonbury, where they talked about the upcoming premiere of "Twisters" that both were attending. In an Instagram comment, Canal recounted Cruise telling her, "Roll with me! I'll take you guys in the heli!" She humorously shared, "Not Tom Cruise flying me & my brother in a heli to the @twistersmovie premiere!!!!"
Despite the headlines, Canal took a playful stance on the topic, jokingly noting the "huge perk" of the situation, "first time I'm Spanish-American singer Victoria Canal and not one-armed pianist whose name remains unmentioned!!!! There's always a win somewhere, thanks Tom."
