AceShowbiz - Keith Lee is not here for trolling. A new video, which circulated online on Wednesday, July 3, featured the TikTok star seemingly not being able to contain his anger when a random person jokingly called him DDG, much to his annoyance.
In the clip, Keith was seen strolling with his entourage when one person yelled, "DDG bro! DDG bro!" while approaching him. To that, Keith warned, "Don't do that! Don't do that!" At one point, the former MMA fighter had to be restrained by one of his bodyguards, though it seemed like it was because he might strip on the stairs if he wasn't being careful.
Despite the warning, the troll continued calling him DDG. "I got your content," Keith told him while walking away. The person, meanwhile, said, "I thought you were DDG, bro!"
Upon watching the clip, Internet users defended Keith and thought his response was understandable. "Yall giggling but he was a professional MMA fighter…hope them jokes worth it… & also leave ppl tf alone ugh," one person commented.
Similarly, another added, "He had every right to respond the way he did . That's a random . Y'all gone learn to leave people alone."
"Why yall keep bothering him? When he knock one of yall a**es out don't be trynna sue," a fan noted. Meanwhile, someone wrote, "It's sad how y'all are doing him."
The video came after Keith took to his TikTok account to explain his now-deleted video featuring him throwing a rose from Taraji P. Henson to the ground following the BET Awards mix-up. Denying having ill feelings towards the actress despite the mishap, he said "I am not upset at Taraji P. Henson by any stretch of the imagination. And not only that, in my opinion, she smoked it last night."
"The reason I did this had nothing to do with Taraji P. Henson. The reason I did this is that I wholeheartedly believe it wasn't my rose, it wasn't my moment," the popular food critic went on to share. "It was given to me, but it wasn't mine. I always say, I don't want nothing that wasn't mine."
The 27-year-old later added, "I am forever thankful for every room that I'm in. I was more than thankful and more than grateful to just sit there and enjoy the show." He also blamed the show's producers on the embarrassing mishap as he felt that the entire segment "felt extremely unprepared and unprofessional."
At the awards ceremony, Taraji, who served as the host at the 2024 BET Awards, mistook Keith for Jordan Howlett, another TikTok influencer. Upon realizing her mistake, the "Power" star quickly apologized, saying, "I got caught up in my own inner monologue, I'm so sorry."
