AceShowbiz - Meghan Markle's estranged dad Thomas Markle weighs in on his grandchildren's upbringing. While he never meets Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, whom Meghan shares with husband Prince Harry, Thomas claimed the kids would regret missing out on their birthright.
Speaking with Daily Mail, Thomas shared that he felt Archie and Lilibet have been "denied the right to know their cousins" in the royal family. He additionally gushed over Princess William and Princess Kate Middleton's children, Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6, calling them "fantastic children."
Thomas believed that the familial relationship and a chance to "take part in things like Trooping the Colour" were his grandchildren's "birthright" which had been taken away. He noted, "They are getting to the age where they will start to ask questions, as all kids do. I find myself wondering how Archie and Lilibet will feel in a few years' time when they realize all the things they have missed out on."
In other news related to Thomas, he recently shared he only has one wish for his 80th birthday. Thomas, who is set to turn 80 on July 18, said in a new interview that he wished his daughter would call him on his big day.
The retired lighting director also likened himself to King Charles as they are both having health issues and unable to see their grandchildren. ‌"They have two grandpas who want to see them, one of whom is the King of England. I never in my 80 years thought I'd be in the same boat as the King," Thomas explained.
"I would love to speak to him because I am sure he has as many unanswered questions as I do," he continued. "Neither of us deserves the treatment we've received."
