After the Bad Boy Records founder wiped his Instagram account clean, sources with direct knowledge assure that the rapper wasn't taking a dig at his ex-girlfriend Cassie.

AceShowbiz - Sean "P. Diddy" Combs stands by his apology to Cassie despite deleting the post. The Internet was rife with theories after the embattled hip-hop mogul scrubbed his entire Instagram account, including an apology video to his ex-girlfriend, but sources assure that there's nothing behind the move other than Puff wanting to reset his posts.

The sources with direct knowledge tell TMZ that the 54-year-old wasn't taking a dig at Cassie either by getting rid of his apology as he deleted not just one, but all of his posts. The sources insist that Diddy's apology was seen around the world and got published/broadcast everyone, so everyone's seen it and it exists forever.

The sources additionally claim that Diddy meant what he said in the apology clip and that stands even today. He isn't downplaying the seriousness of his situation either, nor it is a strategic move between him and his camp.

Diddy scrubbing his IG is said to be just a spontaneous thing and is not out of the ordinary for him, as he has done this before.

Diddy wiped his Instagram page clean on Thursday, June 20, leaving no trace of activity including his apology video which was posted in May after CNN obtained and published footage of him assaulting his ex Cassie in a hotel back in 2016.

"It's so difficult to reflect on the darkest times in your life, but sometimes you got to do that," the Bad Boy Records founder stated in a 70-second video. "My behavior on that video is inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my actions in that video. I'm disgusted. I was disgusted then when I did it, I'm disgusted now."

He continued to elaborate on his journey towards redemption, saying, "I went out and sought professional help. Had to go into therapy, into rehab. Had to ask God for his mercy and grace. I'm so sorry. But I'm committed to being a better man each and every day. I'm not asking for forgiveness. I'm truly sorry."
