Brittany Mahomes Back to Gym After Back Injury

The wife of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes provides an update on her recovery from a back injury and shares her progress in getting back to her fitness routine.

On Thursday, June 13, she reposted a video from fitness instructor Kirsty Rae to her Instagram Stories, showcasing herself doing an overhead lift with dumbbells. "Back pain has resolved so we are slowly getting back to overhead lifts with lighter weight," read the video's text overlay.

This update follows Mahomes' announcement on May 24 that she believed she was "fully recovered." "I'm doing great. My back is no longer broken, so that's good," she told E! News at the time. "I'm still in the gym. I think I'm finally fully recovered and back to doing the things I've always been able to do."

In March, Mahomes shared that she had fractured her pelvic floor. "Once you have kids please take care of your pelvic floor. Seriously," she wrote in an Instagram Story. "A girl with a fractured back."

Pelvic fractures can be a major injury with long-term effects, but Mahomes is working to strengthen her pelvic floor through Kegel exercises. These exercises involve tightening and releasing the pelvic floor muscles to increase their strength.

Mahomes is also staying active and healthy for her family. She shares daughter Sterling Skye, 3, and son Patrick "Bronze" Lavon Mahomes III, 18 months, with her husband Patrick Mahomes. The fitness enthusiast posted an update on her Instagram story with the caption, "back poppin," along with a video of herself lifting weights.
