AceShowbiz - Victoria Monet used her new music video to pay homage to some Y2K artists. On Tuesday, June 11, the R&B singer released the "Alright" visuals, in which she channels the likes of Janet Jackson and Britney Spears.

Directed by Dave Meyers, the clip shows Victoria dressing like Janet in the latter's own MV under the same name. The 35-year-old wears a black-and-white fedora and zoot suit, showing off her choreography alongside a group of background dancers.

At some point in the video, Victoria rocks a blonde look, seemingly reminiscing Britney's "I'm a Slave 4 U" MV. While dancing in the rain, she opts to go with a white tube top and skirt with a thong overlay.

"Alright is about liberation and freedom at its core!" she said of the music video in a statement. "This video is a visual presentation of that sentiment through freedom of movement and fluidity between masculine and feminine energy."

"EVERY single person who had their hands on this visual was extremely passionate from inception, and we all worked really hard to bring it to life!" she added. "They showed up with their A game surpassing what we all imagined. Serious teamwork! We all patiently and meticulously crafted it and are extremely excited to release it into the world!"

Victoria went on to note, "There's no better month to release this visual than pride month, black music month and the beginning of summer 24!" She then concluded, "I can't wait to see where dance artists and the ballroom culture take it."

"Alright" appears on Victoria's debut studio album, "Jaguar II". Dropped in August 2023, the set won Best R&B Album and Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical.
