The actress, beloved for her portrayal of Rey in the 'Star Wars' sequel trilogy, will reprise her iconic role in an upcoming film set after 'The Rise of Skywalker', bringing new adventures to the galaxy far, far away.

AceShowbiz - Daisy Ridley was initially surprised to learn she would reprise her role as Rey. After meeting with Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy, she was thrilled to discover they were "doing another Rey thing." However, she revealed that she is currently only signed on for one film "for now."

The upcoming "Star Wars" film will showcase a different writer and director, promising a unique experience for fans. Set 15 years after "Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker", it will explore Rey's journey as she embarks on the daunting task of restarting the Jedi Order.

Despite her excitement, Ridley admitted she feels "excited and nerve-racking" about returning to the "Star Wars" franchise. She emphasized that the role of Rey "feels like a new adventure" and expressed her eagerness to explore new possibilities with the character.

While Ridley has yet to read the script, she anticipates gaining access to the secretive pages "soon-ish." The film is slated for release in 2026.

The new "Star Wars" film is one of three planned for the franchise, including "The Mandalorian & Grogu" and a film from Dave Filoni connecting the Disney+ shows. Additionally, James Mangold is developing a film set far in the past about the origins of the Force.
