The iconic 80s pop star, who is known for her exuberant hits and vibrant personality, is embarking on her final arena tour, bringing joy and hope to fans across North America one last time.

AceShowbiz - Cyndi Lauper, the "Time After Time" singer, has unveiled plans for her "Girls Just Want to Have Fun Farewell Tour", a 23-city extravaganza that kicks off in Quebec this October and concludes in Chicago this December. At 70 years old, Lauper feels this is the perfect moment to reconnect with audiences in large venues after four decades.

"I honestly, I want to do an arena tour. I haven't done one since the '80s and I feel I'm in good shape," Lauper said to Entertainment Tonight. "I feel strong enough to do a really good job."

The tour coincides with the release of "Let the Canary Sing", a documentary that delves into her remarkable career and cultural impact. Premiering on Paramount+ in the U.S. and Canada, the film details Lauper's journey from her debut in 1983 to becoming an icon of feminism and human rights. Directed by Alison Ellwood, it's a heartfelt tribute to Lauper's life.

Lauper is particularly excited about the potential of modern technology to elevate her performances. "There's so many innovative things going on with, you know, with staging and lighting and AI," she noted. "For me, the idea of perhaps using it [artificial intelligence] to create art is incredible...that is what kind of is exciting me."

As she prepares to bid farewell to touring, Lauper hopes to imbue this tour with a sense of celebration and resilience. "People need hope and you got to give them hope and you got to give people some redemption, you know? I'm a big one for that, so for this tour, it's a celebration and it's gonna be fun," she said. "This tour is gonna be fun."

Tickets went on presale on Tuesday, June 4 with general sales beginning on Friday, June 7. While the tour's special guests have yet to be announced, fans can expect exciting surprises, according to the tour's Live Nation page.
