AceShowbiz - Bobby Shmurda had an important message to his fans. Claiming that he's been blocked from releasing new music because he doesn't paint his nails, the "Shmoney" emcee urged his followers to stop asking him to drop singles.

The 29-year-old made the claim on on Saturday, June 1 via X, formerly Twitter. Sharing a pciture of his nails, the rapper declared, "Stop asking me to drop music American DSP and music blogs which they owned as well don't allow real Bodman on playlists because I don't paint my fingers."

"So it's pointless," the Miami-born artist, whose real name is Ackquille Jean Pollard, continued. "Until something is done with the people who own, runs, and manages these platforms [lion emoji]."

Bobby didn't provide any substantial evidence to support his claim though. However, he isn't the only one who expressed concerns about male rappers painting their nails.

In April, Fat Joe offered his two cents, suggesting that rappers did so to make them go viral and possibly increase their record sales. "It feels like…a new trend, a new swag, a new style," he said during an Instagram Live session. "Paint your nails, use a bag, wear a bag."

Among rap stars who painted his nails was Drake. In July 2023, the Canadian rapper sparked online debate after debuting his pink nails with part of his spider tattoo peeking from his long sleeve.

After the photos were reposted on The Neighborhood Talk's Instagram post, many quickly shared their two cents on Drake's nails. Not amused by his beautifully painted nails, someone wondered, "what's wrong w these 'men'."

Another opined, "The straight men are to sassy for me I'm sorry." A third weighed in, "Sorry I'll never be ok with a grown straight man painting his nails. Y'all really wanna send the world into anarchy," while another stated, "don't care how rich you are, why are men painting their nails? And since it's Drake people are gonna make excuses for him but if another man does it, he's g@y."
