AceShowbiz - During a recent visit to the Jersey Shore, Philadelphia Eagles alumni Jason Kelce and his wife, Kylie Kelce, found themselves at the center of an altercation that quickly went viral on social media. The couple, who were enjoying a rare night out without their three young children, were accosted by a visibly intoxicated woman after politely declining her request for a photograph.
The incident, which occurred over the Memorial Day weekend, quickly escalated when the woman, later identified as Andree Goldberg, aggressively berated the Kelces, declaring they would "never be allowed in this town again." In response, Kylie, a mother of three, firmly stated, "I can smell the alcohol on your breath, you're embarrassing yourself."
Goldberg has since expressed deep regret over her actions. In a statement to WPVI, she admitted, "In a heated moment, I said things that were out of character for me and that I regret. And for that, I am sorry."
She continued, "Although I apologized directly to the Kelce family on Saturday, I want to publicly apologize to them, and our community. My anger, and my actions, are not who I am, and certainly not indicative of the welcoming community of Margate."
The public apology was swiftly followed by a statement from Margate City Mayor Michael Collins, who lamented the incident and offered a formal apology to the Kelces. "I'd like to formally apologize to Jason & Kylie Kelce for the experience they had in Margate City over the holiday weekend," Collins said. He further extended an offer for a "redo date night with dinner on me."
Throughout the commotion, Jason Kelce remained composed, standing back thoughtfully as his wife handled the confrontation. The Kelces have not addressed the incident on their social media accounts, nor did Jason bring it up on his podcast, "New Heights", which he co-hosts with his brother, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.
Instead, Jason opted to focus on the pleasant aspects of their weekend, detailing their enjoyable family experiences at the beach and on the boardwalk during the podcast's latest episode.
The episode did, however, feature Kylie reflecting candidly about her resilience in dealing with such situations. "Let me just say, I am almost six feet tall and I'm not thin," she stated, emphasizing her capability to stand her ground.
Jason Kelce, admired for both his football career and his candor, continues to champion a balanced view on family dynamics. In a recent response to criticisms directed at his wife's role in their household, he stated, "I don't think of Kylie as a homemaker, I think of her as my wife. I think of her as a mother. She has an occupation, as do I, and we keep our house the best we can."
He highlighted their partnership and shared responsibilities in managing their home and raising their children, asserting that their household's state simply reflects the busy lives of a modern family.
The Kelces, who celebrated their sixth wedding anniversary in April 2018, have made headlines as a resilient and united family, handling both public admiration and criticism with poise and grace. As they continue their endeavors, they serve as a reminder of the importance of respect, privacy, and understanding in both private and public spheres.
