Sources told PEOPLE that the 42-year-old royal was seen enjoying an outing with her family. The wife of Prince William also allegedly went out to run errands alone as she's undergoing chemotherapy.
The new update on Kate arrived after it was reported that she was showered with "tens of thousands" of get well soon cards and gifts as she continues her cancer treatment. In a normal week, the palace would receive up to 1,000 letters each week from members of the public with various queries or messages of good wishes for individual royals. The volume may be overwhelming for the staff at times, but they are reportedly determined to reply to all the well-wishers.
Recently, it was said that the mom of three will not make any public appearances until next year to protect her health, both physically and mentally. "Lots of people involved in planning need to know what all the principals are doing a long way in advance," a royal source revealed to the Daily Beast on Friday, May 24. "I am told that Kate's diary for this year is empty. There is nothing planned. She may not appear in public for the rest of the year."
A so-called friend of Prince William and Princess Kate also claimed that the royal couple is prioritizing her mental health above all during this time. The insider revealed, "The key thing for her now is avoiding any kind of stress or anxiety and just getting on with the business of getting better."
The Duke of Cambridge, meanwhile, shared an update on his wife during a visit to a hospital on the Isles of Scilly earlier this month. "May I ask how Princess Kate is doing?" hospital administrator Tracy Smith asked. To that, William replied, "She's doing well, thank you."
Of their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, William added, "The children are very jealous that I'm here and that they're not here as well."
