Set to attend Carolina Fear Fest in Raleigh, NC, Moseley was slammed into from behind by a cyclist while taking an afternoon walk behind his hotel.

According to reports, the cyclist was traveling at a speed of about 30 MPH and did not stop to check on Moseley after the collision, instead opting to flee the scene. The force of the impact left Moseley with four fractured ribs and a fractured pelvis. Help was called for Moseley who suffered from acute pain, leading to his transportation to a trauma hospital where he underwent multiple CT scans.

Moseley himself took to Instagram to update his fans and share an image of him in a hospital gown. He humorously referenced his horror roots, quipping, "And here I thought Jason packed a punch!" The actor maintained a positive disposition despite the serious injuries and shared his gratitude for the support he has received.

Moseley has been discharged from the hospital but faces a six-week rehabilitation period where he is required to avoid putting weight on his left leg. The team at Carolina Fear Fest assured fans that Moseley is expected to make a full recovery and stated that those who purchased photo ops with him would receive immediate refunds.

The actor, clearly beloved and respected within the horror community, also took the time to thank his medical team on social media, saying, "Gettin' there. Thanks for the well wishes, and thanks, @carolinafearfest, for your support. I'm out of commission for a few weeks- those darn ribs & pelvis- but I'll be back on my feet soon enough. Dog will hunt!"

He added another update for his fans, celebrating his discharge, "Out of the hospital, yippee! I want to thank @wakemedhospitals for excellent care and my wife for springing me!!! Now to arrange that long flight home."

While no police report was filed concerning the incident, Moseley is focused on his recovery. His positive outlook and the outpouring of support from fans and colleagues alike highlight not just his status as a genre icon, but also the strong community he has around him.
