After enduring a challenging period of depression and legal battles, the 'Truth Hurts' hitmaker shares her journey back to happiness and creativity with her fans.

AceShowbiz - Lizzo, the widely adored "About Damn Time" singer, has emerged from a tough phase in her life, proclaiming she's happier than she's been in nearly a year. The 36-year-old artist shared a heartfelt update on Instagram.

"I'm the happiest I've been in 10 months," she said. "The strange thing about depression is you don't know you're in it until you're out of it. I'm definitely not all the way as carefree as I used to be. But the dark cloud that followed me every day is finally clearing up."

Since August 2023, Lizzo (real name Melissa Jefferson) has been caught in a whirlwind of legal drama. Her former backup dancers filed a lawsuit against her for sexual and racial harassment, and creating a hostile work environment, which Lizzo vehemently denies. In addition to the initial lawsuit, a second suit claiming harassment and disability discrimination was filed by her former stylist.

In response to the allegations, Lizzo took to social media to defend her character, writing, "My work ethic, morals and respectfulness have been questioned. My character has been criticized. Usually I choose not to respond to false allegations but these are as unbelievable as they sound… too outrageous not to be addressed."

Despite her attempts to dismiss the case, Lizzo's petition was denied in February. Disheartened by the relentless scrutiny, Lizzo expressed her weariness in a March statement, "I'm getting tired of putting up with being dragged by everyone in my life and on the internet. All I want is to make music and make people happy and help the world be a little better than how I found it."

At one point, Lizzo hinted at quitting social media, saying she was fed up with the negativity. However, she later clarified in April, "When I say I quit, I mean I quit giving any negative energy attention. What I'm not going to quit is the joy of my life which is making music, which is connecting with people because I know I'm not alone."

Her recent Instagram post not only celebrated her improved mental health but teased new music as well. "My smile reaches my eyes again and that's a win. I thought my album was finished… but I gotta get some of these good vibes off in a banger real quick," she wrote.

Lizzo's last album, "Special", was released in 2022, and fans can now look forward to more music infused with positivity and resilience.

In concluding her message, Lizzo thanked her supporters for their patience during this turbulent time. It's a hopeful note for the artist who's intent on reclaiming the joy and purpose she finds in her music and connections with fans.
