AceShowbiz - Sexyy Red has something new to announce. On Tuesday, May 21, the "Pound Town" raptress informed her online devotees that she will be making her wrestling debut on next week's "WWE NXT".
The 26-year-old female rapper, who is a lifelong wrestling fan, broke the news via X, formerly Twitter. "I can't wait to go to NXT next week yall I might RKO somebody @WWE #nxt," she penned, referring to Randy Orton's finishing move.
The company itself has also confirmed Sexyy's upcoming appearance and fans have since expressed their excitement. One person in particular wrote, "MOTHERRRR who else is excited!!!" Another tweeted, "This outta be entertaining."
The announcement came just a few days after Sexyy, born Janae Nierah Wherry, confirmed that she was indeed the girl in a viral clip that appeared to be her fighting in high school. The footage made its way online on Sunday, showing a young Red putting the paws on a fellow student in what looks to be science class.
The brawl, however, was later broken up by a teacher. Sharing the video in a retweet, the hip-hop artist co-signed it by writing, "Been on Det!!!!"
That aside, Sexyy has achieved significant success in her music career. Her mega-hit "Pound Town" from 2023 propelled her to fame, followed by her recent Tay Keith-produced track "Get It Sexyy." The latter has reached No. 1 on the Apple Music charts, marking her second No. 1 after her feature on Drake's "Rich Baby Daddy."
Sexyy has also expressed her desire to pursue a TV cameo, citing "Abbott Elementary" as a particular interest. Her plans for continued career growth include becoming "richer, bigger, more trendier" and maintaining a long-lasting presence in the entertainment industry.
