AceShowbiz - A$AP Rocky has been spotted on daddy duty after Rihanna skipped the 2024 Met Gala reportedly due to an illness. The Harlem rapper took his son RZA out on Tuesday, May 7 in New York City, seemingly to let his partner rest at home.
In photos that hit the web one day after the Met Gala, the 35-year-old star looked every inch the doting dad as he was holding his eldest child, who will soon turn two on May 13, in his arms. He was resting on the sidewalk with his back against the wall.
A$AP seemingly brought his son while he went to work out as he rocked a sporty style during the outing. The father of two wore a black-and-white Puma shirt with shorts, adding matching socks and sneakers with a white towel hung around his neck.
His son looked adorable in an orange-and-cream checkered set and blue shoes. The toddler looked even cuter with his hair pulled up in two small buns.
It's unclear if A$AP was scheduled to attend the Met Gala with Rihanna, but the Barbadian beauty had teased her Met Gala look before canceling her appearance at the last minute. She reportedly had to sit this year's event out because she's sick with the flu.
A few days ago, she expressed her excitement for the event as she teased her vibe for the fundraiser. "I'm actually keeping it real simple this year. ... I think it's gonna come to what my makeup and what my hair is going to do," she told Extra as she celebrated the launch of her new Fenty Beauty Soft'lit Foundation at an event in Los Angeles, California, on April 26.
The Fenty Beauty founder additionally revealed that she had two gowns picked out. "We wanna play with that, but I have no idea what I'm gonna do with that," she added. Describing the two outfits, she said, "Very simple-ish ... compared to everything I have done." The singer further teased, "I am showing up for dinner. Shout out to Anna Wintour."
While an explanation to Rihanna's Met Gala absence has been given, not all were convinced that she was sick. Some people speculated that she could not attend the event on Monday night because she might be pregnant with a third child.
