AceShowbiz - King Charles III is making an unprecedented move by opening the doors to Balmoral Castle to the public this summer. For the first time since its completion in 1855, Balmoral Castle in Scotland will offer guided tours to the public.

The tours, running from June 1 to August 4, will provide visitors with access to the castle's grand rooms and an exhibition of artwork and outfits worn by the royal family. Tickets sold out within a day of being released.

Balmoral Castle has long been a cherished summer retreat for the British royal family, and it holds special significance as the place where Queen Elizabeth II spent her final days. The tours will provide a glimpse into the history and significance of this royal residence.

The East Wing of Buckingham Palace will also be open to the public this summer for the first time. From July 15 to August 31, visitors can embark on East Wing Highlights Tours, which include the iconic palace balcony used for public appearances by the royal family.

King Charles III's decision to open up royal residences is part of a broader effort to make the monarchy more accessible to the public. It also aligns with the trend of stately homes across the U.K. welcoming visitors to their private spaces.

In addition to Balmoral Castle and Buckingham Palace, other royal properties such as Windsor, Sandringham, Holyroodhouse, and Highgrove have also opened up their grounds for various events.

Visitors to Balmoral Castle can purchase homemade preserves, Balmoral whisky, or tweed from the Mews Gift Shop. The East Wing Highlights Tours also include an opportunity for afternoon tea.
