AceShowbiz - Spider-Man is likely to go swinging again under the direction of Justin Lin. The "Fast and Furious" film franchise director has reportedly been considered to direct the new installment of the Sony-Marvel film series.

Details of the project are still scarce, but TheDisinsider claims that Tom Holland and Zendaya Coleman are both aboard the movie, reprising their roles as Peter Parker and MJ respectively. Jeff Sneider further claims that the Emmy-winning actress has "Spider-Man 4" on her plate first, pushing the production of "Euphoria" season 3 back until sometime thereafter.

As for the new Spider-Man film, it is reportedly scheduled to begin production later this year, in either September or October. It is currently unknown if Lin is a finalist or just one of many names currently in the running for the gig.

Last year, it was reported that Jon Watts, who directed the first 3 MCU Spidey films, would not be coming back for the fourth movie. Drew Godard was later rumored to be in talks to direct the pic, but it was never confirmed.

In late 2023, Holland appeared to be unsure if he would return as Spider-Man again in another film. "All I can say is that we have been actively engaging in conversations about what it could potentially look like for a fourth rendition of my character," he told Collider last November. "Whether or not we can find a way to do justice to the character is another thing. I feel very protective over Spider-Man."

The British actor continued, "I feel very, very lucky that we were able to work on a franchise that got better with each movie, that got more successful with each movie, which I think is really rare, and I want to protect his legacy. So, I won't make another one for the sake of making another one. It will have to be worth the while of the character."
