During an interview on his podcast, the actor issues an apology to the actress and acknowledges that the sketch would be deemed unacceptable by today's standards.

AceShowbiz - Dana Carvey, 68, has apologized to Sharon Stone, 66, for a 1992 "Saturday Night Live" skit in which she removed her clothes. During Stone's appearance on the "Fly on the Wall with Dana Carvey and David Spade" podcast, Carvey expressed regret for the "Airport Security Sketch," in which Stone played a character who was instructed to strip by male airport security officers.

Carvey, who played an Indian security guard, acknowledged that the sketch would be deemed unacceptable by today's standards. "It's so 1992, you know, it's from another era," Carvey said.

However, Stone expressed that she wasn't particularly bothered by the sketch at the time. "I know the difference between a misdemeanor and a felony," she said. "I think we were all committing misdemeanors [back then] because we didn't think there was something wrong then. We didn't have this sense."

Carvey emphasized that there was "no malice" intended in the sketch and that Stone's sincere performance made it humorous. "When I was doing the Indian character, It was really me rhythmically trying to get laughs," he said.

Stone also shared an incident that occurred during her 1992 "SNL" episode, when protesters rushed the stage before her opening monologue. "A bunch of people started storming the stage, saying they were going to kill me during the opening monologue," she recalled.

She credited "SNL" creator Lorne Michaels with intervening and "personally saving" her life by confronting the protesters. "Lorne started screaming, 'What are you guys doing, watching the f**king show?' And Lorne started, himself, beating up and pulling these people back from the stage," Stone said.

Despite the threats, Stone performed her monologue live, witnessing the protesters being arrested and handcuffed in front of her. Reports indicate that six people were arrested.
