The first pictures from the set of Tim Burton's highly-anticipated 'Beetlejuice Beetlejuice' have arrived, showing Keaton in his signature costume and Ortega in somber attire.

AceShowbiz - Prepare for another haunting adventure as the first images and plot details for the highly anticipated "Beetlejuice Beetlejuice" sequel have been unveiled.

The long-awaited follow-up to Tim Burton's cult hit brings back Michael Keaton as the iconic bio-exorcist Beetlejuice, his signature black-and-white striped suit, and mischievous grin intact.

Joining Keaton is a stellar cast, including Winona Ryder and Catherine O'Hara, reprising their roles as Lydia and Delia Deetz. "Wednesday" star Jenna Ortega steps into the fold as Lydia's rebellious teenage daughter, Astrid, while Justin Theroux plays the enigmatic Rory. Other additions include Monica Bellucci, Arthur Conti, and Willem Dafoe, who plays a deceased B-movie action star turned afterlife police officer.

The sequel's plot revolves around an unexpected family tragedy that brings the Deetz family back to Winter River, the unsettling setting of the original film. Lydia's life is upended when Astrid discovers a mysterious model of the town in the attic, accidentally opening a portal to the Afterlife.

As trouble brews in both realms, it's only a matter of time before Beetlejuice's name is uttered three times, unleashing his unique brand of mayhem upon the living and the undead.

Burton, who helms the sequel, describes Keaton's return as "a beautiful thing" and praises his effortless re-embodiment of the beloved character. He explains that the sequel's emotional hook centers around the three generations of Deetz women, Lydia, Delia, and Astrid, exploring the evolution of their characters over the years.

The first-look images showcase the Deetz family at a funeral, each dressed in somber black. Catherine O'Hara's hat, Jenna Ortega's jacket, Winona Ryder's glasses, and Justin Theroux's sharp coat add to the eerie and atmospheric ambiance.

Burton reveals that he and Keaton have discussed a sequel over the years but only pursued it with the right emotional connection and a compelling story. He also hints at a return to the handmade visual effects that made the original so memorable.

"Beetlejuice Beetlejuice" is set to bewitch audiences on September 6, 2024. With anticipation running high, fans can expect more thrilling details and sneak peeks as the film's release date approaches.
