The new 'Alien' movie terrorizes with its first teaser trailer, showing a group of young space colonizers desperately trying to survive a bloody encounter with monster.

AceShowbiz - 20th Century Studios has unveiled the first teaser trailer for "Alien: Romulus", a new horror film that promises to take the franchise back to its spine-chilling roots.

Directed by Fede Alvarez ("Evil Dead", "Don't Breathe"), the film follows a group of young space colonizers as they encounter a derelict space station and come face to face with the most terrifying life form in the universe: the xenomorph.

According to the official synopsis, "Alien: Romulus" takes a "back to its roots" approach, aiming to recapture the essence of Ridley Scott's original 1979 masterpiece. Alvarez has emphasized his focus on old-school techniques, with puppeteering and animatronics replacing modern CGI.

The cast includes Cailee Spaeny ("Priscilla"), David Jonsson, Archie Renaux, Isabela Merced, Spike Fearn, and Aileen Wu. Ridley Scott, who helmed the original "Alien" and its recent prequels, "Prometheus" and "Alien: Covenant", serves as a producer on the film.

Alvarez has indicated that "Alien: Romulus" takes place a few years after the events of the original movie. While plot details remain under wraps, the teaser trailer hints at a claustrophobic and terrifying experience that will bring fans to the edge of their seats.

"Alien: Romulus" is slated to hit theaters on August 16. Despite initial reports suggesting a direct-to-streaming release on Hulu, the latest trailer and poster confirm that the film will receive an exclusive theatrical window.
