The Princess of Wales has reportedly opted to skip this year's annual St. Patrick's Day parade, marking her first absence from the Irish celebration since 2016.

AceShowbiz - Irish fans eager to witness Princess Kate Middleton at the annual St. Patrick's Day parade will be disappointed as the royal has been forced to cancel her attendance following planned abdominal surgery.

Middleton, 42, along with her husband, Prince William, 41, will miss the event on Sunday, March 17 at Mons Barracks in Aldershot, England, as Middleton recuperates from her recent surgery. Despite being a regular attendee at the parade since 2012, Middleton last missed the event in 2016.

As the honorary Colonel of the Irish Guards since last year, Middleton has expressed her commitment to the regiment and its members. She has stated, "I am here to listen to you, to support you, and to champion you in all you do."

Prince William, who previously held the honorary title of Colonel of the Irish Guards until 2022, will also be absent from the parade. A source has revealed that the Irish Guards will extend their best wishes for Middleton's recovery and will honor her with three cheers at the conclusion of the parade.

Despite the Palace's earlier announcement that Middleton would not resume public duties until after Easter, concern has grown regarding her whereabouts since her abdominal surgery in January. The release and subsequent apology for an edited photo of Middleton with her children on Mother's Day has further fueled speculation.

Internet commentators have raised concerns about the authenticity of another photo of Middleton in a car, suggesting it may be photoshopped. However, neither Middleton nor the Palace have addressed this rumor.
