The new report comes amid the drama surrounding the Princess of Wales as people are wondering about her whereabouts following the surgery, prompting conspiracy theories to emerge online.

AceShowbiz - Tension was reportedly high between Prince William and Kate Middleton prior to her hospitalization following an abdominal surgery. A source claimed that the Prince and Princess of Wales were fighting over the latter's parents' lifestyle.

It was said that the royal family was taking flak from smaller creditors, who claimed that the Middletons struggled to pay the bills. "King Charles was outraged this financial and public relations disaster is leaving egg on the monarchy's face since Kate is the future queen," an insider noted.

The report claimed that COVID-19 pandemic played a role in the financial issues that Kate's parents, Carole and Michael, were facing. With debt stacking up to $3.2 million, they were forced to sell off their party supplies firm.

"William embraced his wife's family as his own and looks like a fool," said one palace insider to The Globe. A company exec also told the publication they felt "betrayed."

According to sources, the princess' parents carelessly spend their money "after their daughter married into the royal family - and their party store paid the price." Carole once revealed that the family built the party store together, saying, "Pippa wrote our 'Party Times' blog, James did the cakes when he first left school and Catherine developed our first birthday and baby category."

The drama allegedly created tension between Kate and William. It all unfolded in the months leading up to the mom of three's abdominal surgery in January.

The new report came amid the drama surrounding Kate. As people wonder about her whereabouts following the surgery, conspiracy theories started to emerge online. The Kensington Palace issued a statement to shut down the rumors, saying, "We were very clear from the outset that the Princess of Wales was out until after Easter and Kensington Palace would only be providing updates when something was significant." The spokesperson also stressed that the Princess of Wales is "doing well."

However, Kate further raised people's eyebrows when she made a blunder by posting a manipulated photo of her and her kids in honor of Mother's Day. Admitting to altering the picture, Kate apologized in a statement that read, "Like many amateur photographers, I do occasionally experiment with editing. I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion the family photograph we shared yesterday caused. I hope everyone celebrating had a very happy Mother's Day. C." Kensington Palace, however, refused to release the unedited version of the picture.

On the other hand, people also suspected that another recent picture of her and Prince William inside a car together was edited because of the unmatched bricks in the background. Jim Bennett, a photographer who took the snap, however, denied the claims.

"Car shots are unpredictable at the best of times," Jim Bennett told PEOPLE on Wednesday March 13, "and with some reflection on the glass it can be difficult." He shared that he was surprised himself after finding out that Kate joined Prince William on his way to London for Commonwealth Day service. The photographer claimed that it "wasn't until I checked on the back of the camera to make sure I had a frame of Prince William that I realized there was someone sitting next to him," adding, "It turned out to be Catherine!"

"We don't change our photos in Photoshop other than adjusting the light levels if necessary," he insisted. Prior to this, his agency Goff Photos echoed the sentiment in a statement in which it claimed that the picture had been "cropped and lightened" but that "nothing has been doctored."
