AceShowbiz - Alex Miller broke his silence on a recent tragedy. Taking to social media, the "American Idol" alum sent prayers to a man who died in a fatal crash involving his tour bus.

The singer issued a statement via Instagram. "While traveling back from a vacation last night, rising country star Alex Miller and several members of his band were on a bus that was hit by a car," read the Wednesday, February 14 message.

"Sadly, the driver of the car is deceased. Alex sends his thoughts and prayers to the gentleman and his family," it added. "No one on the bus was injured. Kentucky state police are investigating."

The accident occurred at around 10:28 P.M. in Rockcastle County on Tuesday, according to a press release shared online by Kentucky State Police. Authorities stated that a 53-year-old man named James M. Mcpheron lost control of his vehicle and veered into the path of the tour bus.

James was later rushed to the hospital. He sadly died from his injuries.

Just one day before the crash, Alex announced in an Instagram Reel that he had new music on the way. "Hello Alex Miller Fans! I got a brand new song coming out tomorrow called Oh Odessa and y'all are gonna love it!" he captioned the post.

Alex appeared on "American Idol" Season 19 in 2021 but was eliminated during the showstopper round. The 20-year-old was signed to a Nashville-based label, Billy Jam Records, shortly after his departure from the series, according to his website.

"I stuck to my guns," the musician said of his commitment to the country genre in a recent Instagram post. "I think that resonated with a lot of people, and I didn't throw a fit when they cut me, I just, ‘Thank you so much for this opportunity' and this, that and the other."
