Porsha Williams Confirms Return for 'Real Housewives of Atlanta' Season 16

News of the fan-favorite's highly-anticipated return comes amid claims that the upcoming season of the hit Bravo series will feature a major cast shakeup that prompts a filming hiatus.

AceShowbiz - It's exciting news for "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" fans. On Tuesday, February 13, fan-favorite Porsha Williams confirmed in an Instagram post that she will be returning for the upcoming season 16 of the Bravo reality show.

Making use of her page, Porsha shared a video in which she said, "Who said that?" mimicking former co-star Kandi Burruss' famous line. "Porsha Williams coming back to 'Real Housewives of Atlanta'? That's false. But Porsha Guobadia is in the building. Haha, see ya, mwah!" she added.

She additionally expressed her excitement in a statement which read, "I'm incredibly thankful for the vision and faith NBCUniversal has put in me to be a larger part of their family. I'm looking forward to being back on 'The Real Housewives of Atlanta', and showing the world my new world!"

Rachel Smith, the Executive Vice President of Unscripted Content, Lifestyle and Documentaries, NBCUniversal Entertainment, added, "Porsha Williams Guobadia is a multi-hyphenate and we are fortunate to collaborate and tap into her creativity and passion through this partnership. Our audience has supported and admired Porsha as she so authentically, hilariously and vulnerably shared her life over the years and we couldn't be more excited to welcome her back to the NBCU family."

Porsha left "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" after season 13, shortly after being engaged to her now-husband Simon Guobadia. News of her return came amid claims that the upcoming season will feature a major cast shakeup that prompts a filming hiatus.

While Porsha re-joins the hit series, fellow OG Kandi announced her departure earlier this month. "I decided I'm not coming back this year," the longtime cast member of the hit reality series revealed to Variety while gracing the 2024 Grammys red carpet at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Sunday, February 4. "It's been 14 seasons."

"They allowed us to sit around for a little too long, but during that time I had started working on a lot of other things, and I got some nice big projects coming soon, so I'm super excited about those things," the Xscape singer further explained. She also noted that a friend helped her to realize that it's probably time for her to take a break from reality TV shows.
