AceShowbiz - Beyonce Knowles and Lady GaGa have sparked speculation that they are working on new collaborative music. The "Break My Soul" hitmaker and the "Bad Romance" songstress made many believe that a sequel of their song titled "Telephone" is coming soon.
On Sunday, February 11, Queen Bey and GaGa became a hot topic on X, formerly known as Twitter. A number of X users made use of the social media platform to share theories on why they think the two artists are currently working on the sequel.
One in particular tweeted, "Hear me out..Beyonce's song is called 'Texas Hold 'Em' and lady Gaga has a song called 'Poker Face' .. This is giving 'Telephone' era, but what if it's a prequel to 'Telephone' and on Lady Gaga's next album is the official Sequel?"
Another joined in, "Lady Gaga was arrested in February 11, 2010. Today, February 11, 2024, Beyonce announced 'Act II'. One track is called 'Texas Hold 'Em' and one of Gaga's most famous songs starts with 'I wanna hold 'em like they do in Texas.' TELEPHONE PT 2 CONFIRMED."
A third argued, "This could happen since 'Paparazzi' is Gaga's first installment in the series. So Beyonce could get her own prequel. But while I LOVE 'Telephone', I'm not sure that the song is big enough/super relevant within the Bey discography for her to do an entire prequel for it."
The theories came after Beyonce released a trailer for the second part of her acclaimed 2022 album "Renaissance" titled "Act II". After unleashing the teaser, her fans noticed that there are similarities between the new visuals and her and GaGa's "Telephone" music video. Furthermore, the footage featured a promising "To be continued" message near its end.
Beyonce and GaGa dropped "Telephone" back in 2010. On the song, GaGa sings, "You should've made some plans with me, you knew that I was free/ And now you won't stop callin' me, I'm kinda busy." For her part, Queen Bey sings, "Boy, the way you blowin' up my phone (Won't)/ Won't make me leave no faster (Pu-put)/ Put my coat on faster (Le-leave)/ Leave my girls no faster."
