During his appearance on Shannon Sharpe's 'Club Shay Shay' podcast, the 'OMG' singer clarifies his comments on being the 'Crazy in Love' singer's babysitter when they were young.

AceShowbiz - Usher is setting the record straight. The "OMG" singer clarified his previous comments on being Beyonce Knowles' babysitter during his appearance on Shannon Sharpe's "Club Shay Shay" podcast.

Usher, who previously insinuated that he was the pop star's babysitter before she became famous, shared in the Wednesday, January 31 episode of the YouTube series, "Daryl Simmons, he had a group by the name of The Dolls, and they came to Atlanta for the first time." He noted, "This is before Destiny's Child became Destiny's Child."

The R&B icon went on saying, "I think I looked over them while they [were] doing something in the house; I had to watch over 'cause I was like the, you know, the authority 'cause I guess I was the teenager at the time."

The "Love in This Club" singer, however, insisted that wasn't a "manny" for the "Cuff It" hitmaker and her bandmates. "[I was] making certain that they didn't, you know, get in no trouble in the house at the time," the eight-time Grammy winner said.

Shannon later asked if he expected Beyonce to be as big as now, to which Usher responded by saying that the Houston-born star "had a talent and also to a brilliance and a brightness that was much different." He further gushed, "[It's] really great for my sister, to see that she's done so amazing and continue to thrive and just get bigger and better. Whether it's musically or in her life or creativity, all of it, man."

Usher first revealed his connection to Beyonce when they were young during an interview with U.K. radio show "Capital Breakfast With Roman Kemp" last August. "Fun fact, I knew Beyonce when she was 12 years old, 11 years old," he said at the time.

"She used to be in a group by the name of The Dolls. I don't know if I could consider myself their babysitter, but I had a time where I had to watch The Dolls," he continued. Usher noted that he became the girls' "chaperone, nanny or something like that" because he was the oldest person amongst them.
