AceShowbiz - To say that Jacob Elordi is nervous about hosting "Saturday Night Live" for the first time is an understatement. The "Euphoria" star is seen struggling to literally take the first step down the stairs in the promo for his upcoming episode.
Released on Wednesday, January 17, the '80-style promo sees Jacob feeling too afraid to make his way down the staircase of the main "SNL" backdrop. Cast members Marcello Hernandez and Punkie Johnson then appear to help him.
"Hey man, you good," Punkie asks, to which the "Saltburn" actor replies, "They all make it look so easy." A reel of past hosts, including Kim Kardashian and Zac Efron, making their entrance with ease later plays over the screen.
Jacob then comically tries several ways in an attempt to make the descent and that includes him scooting down one stair at a time on his butt. After gaining confidence, he enters from the doorway for a final attempt. "You got it, buddy," Marcello encourages, while Punkie adds, "Let's go, J."
The "Priscilla" star is busy waving at an imaginary audience that he doesn't watch his step as his shoe gets caught on a mat. He painfully falls down the stairs, landing facedown on the floor. "I'm good, I'm good," the host can be heard mumbling.
Fans are not the only ones excited for Jacob's "SNL" hosting gig. Following the announcement, "Priscilla" director Sofia Coppola and actress Rachel Zegler took to social media to express their excitement. In the January 20 episode, which marks the first episode of the hit comedy show in 2024, Jacob will be joined by Renee Rapp, who has been tapped to serve as the night's musical guest.
