Amid divorce rumors following their viral chat at the 2024 Golden Globe Awards, the actress of "The Devil Wears Prada" and the "A Quiet Place" director appeared smitten with each other at the 2024 Critics' Choice Awards.
When hitting the red carpet at the 29th annual event, which took place at The Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California on Sunday, January 14, the 40-year-old actress and the 44-year-old actor/filmmaker put on a loved-up display. They were not shy to show their affection towards each other in front of photographers.
In pictures making their rounds online, Emily could be seen placing one of her hands behind John's back while she was standing close next to him. In the meantime, he was spotted wrapping his hand around her waist as he put his other hand inside the pocket of his pair of pants.
In one of the photos, Emily and John were captured adoringly gazing at one another while flashing their radiant big smiles. The actress, who looked stunning in an asymmetrical red gown, was later photographed bursting into laughter. At the same time, he giggled and couldn't keep his eyes off her.
The loved-up display came one week after it was speculated that Emily and John were talking about "divorce" in a viral video from their appearance at the 2024 Golden Globe Awards. After the clip circulated online, some social media users believed that he told his wife, "I can't wait to divorce."
Meanwhile, other users suggested that the "Mary Poppins Returns" actress and the actor portraying Jim Halpert on "The Office" were discussing the weather. "You can hear her say 'It's actually kinda chilly right now.' And he responds, 'I can't wait to get indoors,' " one of them theorized.
In the wake of the divorce speculations, it was revealed that Emily and John, who have two daughters together after tying the knot back in July 2010, had "no issues." A source spilled to Us Weekly, "There are no issues with Emily and John. They are absolutely not talking about divorce. They think the rumors are funny and ridiculous."
