The 'Moonwalking in Calabasas' rapper has been dragged online after releasing the tune, in which he admits to being 'insecure' about his girlfriend Halle Bailey's on-screen romance.

AceShowbiz - DDG has reacted to the backlash he received following the release of his new single, "Famous". In a video shared on his YouTube channel, he urged critics to stop calling him a "failed rapper."

"They're calling me a failed rapper. They're going in on me right now. I want y'all to know, 'Famous' is just a song. Okay? It's just music, y'all. Just how movies is just movies, songs is just songs," the 25-year-old explained. "Y'all gotta relax and worry about your own stuff. It's all entertainment, yo. It's the entertainment business. Calm down. Chill out. It is what it is."

"I'm used to getting hated on. I honestly feel like I'm finna." DDG continued. He then asked his friend whether he should quit YouTube to strictly focus on recording music, saying, "I feel like if I didn't do YouTube, I'd be in the studio way more. 'Cause I look at music as just a hobby. But, if I looked at music where I have to do this to eat, I feel like I'd even be waay harder."

After joking around with his friends, DDG went on to note, "Listen, y'all. stop calling me a 'failed rapper,' man. Listen, I don't want no beef, y'all. I'm in my peace mode right now, bro. Y'all don't see me tweeting nothing back to y'all. Bro, I come in peace. I'm sorry. Y'all won. I apologize. Please. 'Failed rapper' is crazy." He concluded, "I love doing music and I do it because it makes me happy. So, I would never let any comment or any tweet or anything make me stop. I will become what I want to become."

DDG dropped "Famous" on Friday, July 14. On the track, he admits to being "insecure" about his girlfriend Halle Bailey's on-screen romance. "I been so insecure that I be thinkin' you really be f**kin' n***as you in movies with/ But on the internet, I just be coolin' it, but in my head, a n***a really losin' it," he raps. "Gotta be payin' good 'cause you keep doin' it, I might just tweet somethin' just to ruin it/ I got a platform, I'm abusin' it."

DDG also appears to address the moment when Halle was holding hands with her co-star Jonah Hauer-King during the U.K. premiere of "The Little Mermaid". He spits, "Why is y'all holdin' hands in the photo?/ You know I'm insecure, that's a no-no."
