AceShowbiz - A juicy plot detail of "Beetlejuice 2" may have been leaked online. While Warner Bros. Pictures has not released an official picture from the upcoming movie, new set photos have circulated online, unveiling a surprise wedding.
In pictures which hit the web on Thursday, July 6 and published by PEOPLE, Jenna Ortega and Winona Ryder are seen filming what appears to be a wedding scene. The two actress were spotted on the set in Hertfordshire, England on Wednesday.
For the shooting that day, Ortega wore a white tulle-laden gown with a bit of pink layer on the frock, hinting that she may be the bride. She teamed her dress with white boots with pink lace, completing her quirky look. She also donned a gray jacket on top of her gown to keep her warm in between takes.
Ryder, meanwhile, was dressed in her goth character's signature black with her iconic hairstyle, complete with spikey bangs. Her outfit, however, was hidden under her thick black coat, though it can be seen that she was wearing black leggings underneath.
In the "Beetlejuice" sequel, Ryder reprises her role as Lydia Deetz. In the original film, Lydia was almost forced into marrying Betelgeuse (Michael Keaton). Ortega, meanwhile, is added to the sequel as Lydia's daughter.
Keaton also returns for the sequel, with Monica Bellucci joining the cast as Betelgeuse's wife. Catherine O'Hara also reprises her role as Delia Deetz, while Willem Dafoe and Justin Theroux have been cast in undisclosed roles.
Tim Burton returns as director, with Alfred Gough and Miles Millar writing the screenplay based on a story by Seth Grahame-Smith. The fantasy comedy film is set to hit U.S. theaters on September 6, 2024.
Keaton recently revealed that the new movie will be made like the first flick. " 'Beetlejuice' is the most f**king fun you can have working. It's so fun. It's so great. And you know what it is? We're doing it exactly like we did the first movie," he told Empire in June.
The 71-year-old actor went on sharing, "[Burton] and I were talking about it years and years ago, never telling anybody. I said, 'If it happens' - first of all, we've both said we're doing it many times. We both agreed, 'If it happens, it has to be done as close to the way we made it the first time.' "
