In a new interview, Kevin Hunter, Jr. claims that Judge Lisa Sokoloff threatened him with arrest while he was caring for his mother in Florida back in 2022.

AceShowbiz - More details about drama between Wendy Williams' son Kevin Hunter, Jr. and the former TV host's team have emerged online. Kevin claimed in a new interview that he was threatened with kidnapping charges while he was caring for his mother in Florida back in 2022.

In an interview with The Sun, Kevin accused Judge Lisa Sokoloff of threatening him with the charges if he didn't assist the court with his mother's return to New York. According to Kevin, he was left "scared" by Lisa's orders, adding that it made him feel afraid to visit his mother after a court appearance in New York. The judge told him that he would be held for contempt if he didn't bring her back.

The 22-year-old added that whenever he did try to visit the former "The Wendy Williams Show" host, her legal guardians tried to "change things up" and that made him feel conflicted. He's also allegedly blocked from intervening in his mother's decisions dealing with his mother's affairs, including her health, due to the very same court-appointed guardianship that Lisa warned him about.

Upon catching wind of Kevin's claims, fans showed support to Kevin, whom Wendy shares with ex-husband Kevin Hunter. "This is beyond sick. They need to let that boy care for his mom. Them people just want her money," one fan suggested.

"Wendy should've had her paperwork in order because this is ridiculous. Her son should be able to take her wherever whenever," another user wrote in an Instagram comment. One other said, "Crazy how the tables turn. She was in everybody business now look."

Another person questioned, "How can you kidnap your mom.. especially when she wanted to spend time with you. There was no court order for her to stay away from him…they act like he is trying to k-ill her. He's trying to help her."

Kevin recently accused Wendy's team of taking advantage of her instead of helping her with her alcoholism. "I know there are all sorts of things happening that I know in her right mind she would never agree to," he said. "As hard as it is seeing her being taken advantage of, I know that if I'm making sure she, as a person, is okay, that is the important thing."

He additionally expressed his concern about Wendy's avid alcohol use. "And it's gotten to a point where yes, it could have that effect that it might be fatal because it affects her way worse than a normal person since it stays in her system," he explained.

In response to Kevin's claims, Wendy's manager Well Selby was quick to deny them. "Taking advantage of her for what? To get what? To do what?" he told Entertainment Tonight. "I'm not here to brag but I was doing just okay before Wendy came along and I insisted on helping her because she requested my assistance."

"Wendy is under a guardianship. Everything that she does gets approved by the guardianship. A court-appointed guardianship. So, no one, even if they wanted to take advantage of her -- everything has to get approved by that court," he pointed out. "So, any type of business dealings that we do, Wendy, myself and anyone -- we have to get the guardianship to sign off on it. So how can anyone take advantage of her?"

The jeweler-turned-manager also criticized Kevin for going to a publication before speaking to his mother about his concerns. "If your mother was near death would the first thing you do is call an online publication?" he questioned. "Okay. So, that's all I have to say about that."

Well further noted that Wendy is in a "better place" now. "She's progressing very well. She looks healthy. She sounds healthy, and I think she's doing amazing. As of today. I'm not a doctor, but that's my synopsis on how Wendy's doing right now," he said.

"She's taking it day by day. And that's another thing, too, does anybody even ask like, 'How's she doing?' Does anyone even care... I feel like everyone just puts out negative information about her and that's the focus," he divulged. "Why don't we just stop for a moment and just say, 'Hey, how is she? Is she doing okay today?' Why is that not the focus? Why isn't that what we're talking about on a daily basis? Just understand that she's a human being that's going through a lot. She's dealing with a lot and support her, please."
