AceShowbiz - Taylor Swift and Matty Healy are reportedly not really over just yet despite reports stating otherwise. Sources claim that the pair did not break up because they were never dating to begin with, describing their brief fling as "not a committed relationship."
Debunking the split rumors, Deuxmoi cited its sources who said that "they aren't over." One of the sources told the gossip account that the American singer/songwriter and the British rocker are simply not hanging out together right now because they're on tour in different continents.
"It was hard and fast and not a committed relationship right off the hop. He's on tour in Europe and she's touring the US. Logistical problems at the moment.... People are nutso," the source wrote in a DM sent to the outlet.
The gossip blog further stressed that Taylor and Matty "aren't in the same country right now so they aren't hanging out but maybe they'll hook up again in the future."
TMZ was the first to report that Taylor and Matty have split following a whirlwind romance. A source later told Entertainment Tonight, "Taylor and Matty broke up. They are both extremely busy and realized they're not really compatible with each other. Taylor's friends want what's best for her and aren't shocked that their relationship fizzled out since she recently got out of a long-term relationship."
Meanwhile, another source downplayed Taylor's relationship with Matty, calling it "a summertime thing" and "no big deal" to begin with. "Everyone who really knows her has been saying all along that this was a fun, good time thing that would last as long as it lasted and would be no big deal once it was done," the so-called insider told Page Six.
Likening Taylor's brief romance with The 1975 frontman to her past relationship with actor Tom Hiddleston, the source said, "She will not be writing albums about this one. It was a summertime thing. Does everyone have amnesia about Tom Hiddleston? Jesus Christ."
The insider further claimed that Taylor was just looking for fun time after "stifling" relationship with Joe Alwyn. "She's allowed to let off some steam and sew some oats afterwards without people claiming first that she's 'head over heels' and then that she's 'breaking up' with the guy. It's not a breakup. It's a natural evolution of a fun little thing whose moment is over," the source explained.
Another source similarly told PEOPLE, "She had fun with him, but it was always casual." The source then confirmed, "They are no longer romantically involved."
