AceShowbiz - Tyrese Gibson was reflecting on his and Samantha Lee's failed marriage in a new video. When sharing his thoughts, the Roman Pearce depicter in the "Fast and Furious" film series said he finally realized that their relationship was just "all about money and status."
"I left the courtroom during a divorce trial, and I realized it was never love; it was just a transaction," the 44-year-old said in the clip shared on Instagram. "Wow, we did a whole marriage and did the whole duration of a child and starting a family, just to find out it was all about money. Status. Transaction…"
Tyrese went on to argue, "Imagine me being the only actor in a relationship, to then realize that I was in a relationship for five years with one of the best actors I've ever met in my f**king life."
Prior to this, Tyrese declared that he doesn't "want to sing about this divorce no more." He added, "I don't want to sing about none of this painful s**t, heartbreaking sad s**t… even though it's my truth and it's the most important album that I've ever done… Talking about my ex, I just don't want to do it for another two years…"
Tyrese announced his split from Samantha in December 2020. Since then, the exes have had a nasty divorce with the actor being told to pay $636,000 for child support as well as his ex's lawyer fee.
The decision came after the "Fast X" star took to his Instagram account to share a video of him slamming the judge. In the 30-minute Instagram video, he accused the judge of being "racist" and calling his ex-wife a "b***h."
"Now listen, we ain't together no more, we have our share of issues," he said. "But I have never referred to the mother of my child as a b***h. To hear this man, this white man, on the bench, wearing a black robe, who is supposed to represent the law, to refer to my ex-wife and the mother of my child as a b***h… why is he still on the stand?"
