AceShowbiz - Ne-Yo has found himself in hot water. The "Miss Independent" hitmaker got blasted and being called "disrespectful" after sharing a social media post celebrating the women in his life as his Mother's Day tribute.
On Sunday, May 14, the 43-year-old singer let out one Instagram post in which he gave simultaneous shoutouts to his mother, his sister and the mothers of his children, Monyetta Shaw, Crystal Renay and Sade Jenea. In the caption, he wrote, "Happy Mother's Day to my amazing mom, my nephew's crazy mom (hey sis) and the beautiful mothers of my beautiful children. My love for you is endless."
Ne-Yo did not forget to include his wish for other mothers in his caption. "And to all of the wonderful and deserving mothers all over the world…YOU are the life breath of this very planet," he noted. "I honor and salute you for your constant selflessness and the genuine love, encouragement, comfort and care you give on a daily basis. We should celebrate you everyday. HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY."
Shortly after Ne-Yo posted the tribute, many were quick to find fault with his post. In the comments section of the singer's post, one critic bluntly pointed out, "NeYo I know you have more common sense then this now!!! So disrespectful!!" Another chimed in, "It's the audacity to post all the baby moms in one post that's absolutely absurd."
The criticism did not stop there. A third raised a complaint, "Is yo momma the one that taught you how to cheat or your daddy." A fourth similarly raged, "This post would piss me off so bad smh cause ain't no way you put me on the same slide with that woman you cheated and had a family on me with. Im sure his intentions were ok but aht aht."
A fifth, in the meantime, had something to say about one of Ne-Yo's baby mamas. The critic asked, "All the other pictures are classy except for the last one but it's none of my business lol." Similarly, a sixth inquired, "Last one didn't have a motherly photo?"
