When explaining why his relationship with his ex-wife didn't work, the 'Masked Singer' host shares that 'instead of making it about our relationship,' they just want to 'do what's best for the children.'

AceShowbiz - Nick Cannon has often heaped praise on Mariah Carey, hinting that there's no slight of animosity between them despite their divorce. In a new interview, however, the multi-talented star has shed light on what led to the breakdown of their marriage.
When speaking of his dynamic with his ex-wife, the former "America's Got Talent" host revealed that he and the R&B diva cannot be living together because they're like ex-U.S. president Donald Trump and Russian leader Vladimir Putin. "Imagine if, like, Trump and Putin had to live in the same house," he told the Los Angeles Times in the interview published on Sunday, May 7.
"It wasn't even about her and I - we've always been good," the 42-year-old clarified, before explaining, "It was more about us understanding that instead of making it about our relationship and what I want or what you want, we should just do what's best for the children."
In another interview on "The Jason Lee Show" to air on Tuesday, May 9 on REVOLT's digital platforms, Nick claimed that Mariah is his No. 1 supporter when it comes to his big family, but she won't let him bring that "bulls**t" into her home.
"She's high frequency, man. She always like - she asks me all the time, like, 'You alright? How you doin'? You handling it all,' " he shared. "She's like, 'Yo, let's make sure we’re on the same page every day so when some bulls**t comes up, we know that it ain't true."
The father of twelve continued, "She's like, 'as long as you don't bring none of that bulls**t over to the Manor of Carey.' " He added, "She lives in her own world. Nothing can infiltrate that. So, when we talk daily, she's just checking on my spirit."
Nick shares 12-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe with Mariah. He is also father to 6-year-old Golden, 2-year-old Powerful Queen and 7-month-old baby Rise with Brittany Bell; 22-month-old twins Zion and Zillion and 5-month-old baby Beautiful Zeppelin with Abby De La Rosa; 10-month-old Legendary Love with Bre Tiesi; and 7-month-old Onyx Ice with LaNisha Cole. In December 2022, he welcomed Halo Marie with Alyssa Scott, one year after losing their son Zen to brain cancer.
