AceShowbiz - Bam Margera's wife has spoken up after he claimed they "never legally married." Nicole Boyd, who shares a child with the former professional skateboarder, insisted that they had a wedding ceremony.

Nicole's attorney, David Glass, told Page Six, "As an initial matter, it was not until just recently that Nikki had ever heard Bam's claim that they were never married." The lawyer added, "She was told that the wedding would occur in Iceland and that it was all taken care of."

"She had a wedding ceremony," the lawyer further elaborated. "And then returned to the U.S. and lived like a married couple with Bam for years."

Bam made his claim in court documents amid his custody battle with Nicole. "Boyd and I have never been married, legally or otherwise," he argued. "To my knowledge, Boyd has never legally changed her name in any state to 'Nicole Margera.' Every driver's license or other form of identification I have seen Boyd possess bears the name 'Nicole Boyd,' " so read the docs obtained by PEOPLE.

Bam and Nicole had a matrimonial ceremony in Reykjavik, Iceland, on October 5, 2013. The wedding itself was featured in a since-deleted video on the MTV alum's YouTube channel. However, it remains to be seen whether the former couple ever got a marriage license in the United States.

He then noted, "During these breaks Boyd would leave my home and go stay with her family in California... However, Boyd would always come back to Pennsylvania soon thereafter and we would resume our dating relationship."
