If a new report is to be believed, the FOX honchos won't rule out letting the 'Roar' singer go over controversies surrounding her 'rude' behavior to contestants on the singing competition series.

AceShowbiz - "American Idol" may fire Katy Perry over the way she treats the show's contestants. If a new report is to be believed, the FOX honchos won't rule out letting the "Fireworks" singer go over controversies surrounding her "rude" behavior on the singing competition series.

"Katy has come under fire for harsh comments in the past, and now fans are upset over the way she humiliated a singing duo," a source spills to Radar Online. "She demanded they perform before they'd had a chance to rehearse and then blasted their work as 'underwhelming' in front of a national audience!"

The insider adds that the 38-year-old "Roar" hitmaker's cringeworthy comments have "got people behind the scenes wondering if she is past her expiration date." The informant continues, "And producers are so rattled by Katy's behavior they're considering replacing her to keep the audience happy."

Prior to this, a source claimed that Katy felt like she was the dark horse of the "American Idol" judges, who include Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie. "Katy says 'American Idol' has turned into a boys' club with Luke and Lionel," one tipster shared about the guys' close bond back in February. "They play pranks on each other and tell inside jokes."

Katy recently landed in hot water for her mom-shaming comments on a contestant named Sara Beth Liebe. During her audition, which aired in the March 5 episode, Sara revealed that she's a mother of three, prompting Katy to make a shocked face before getting up and slowly melting onto the judges' desk.

"If Katy lays on the table, I think I'm going to pass out," Sara quipped. Katy then joked, "Honey, you've been laying on the table too much."

After the episode aired, Sara addressed the remarks in a TikTok video. "It was embarrassing to have that on TV," the California native said of the exchange. "It was hurtful."

Sara, who eventually decided to quit the show to focus on her kids, went on criticizing the judge, "I think that women supporting and uplifting other women is so cool and I think that mom shaming is super lame. I think that it's hard enough to be a mom and it's hard enough to be a woman."

Katy was also criticized for her "condescending" comments on contestant Nutsa Buzaladze. In an episode, Katy criticized her during her performance with her duet partner, Carina DeAngelo. After Carina revealed that Nutsa had slept through a rehearsal, Katy told the pair that their performance was "underwhelming."

She said, "I just think the energy was broken between both of you, and so I think you couldn't give each other the energy you both needed. That you both deserved. I think you're both better than that performance."

Upon watching the episode, some viewers thought Katy was "so rude and condescending to the contestants unless it's a male cutie then she acts like a teenage fool." Another critic noted, "Sooooo much drama! Ugh," while someone else added, "Idk if I can keep watching. I want to…but idk."

Following the backlash, Nutsa publicly apologized to Katy in the Sunday, April 9 episode. "Katy, I wanted to apologize because I felt very bad when you said to me, 'More grace, more grace,' " she said, "And I wanted to like tell also my side of the story and I felt so bad I was, like, frozen."

Nutsa added, "Then I didn't want to bring negative energy, so that's why I didn't say nothing. I thought that because I didn't speak up that I could not really speak because I did not want to cry onstage, but after I left the stage I was just like destroyed, so I wanted to apologize for this."

After the apology, Katy immediately stood up to give Nutsa a hug and told her, "That is great. That's so wonderful and Nutsa, what I meant by grace is that it's OK to be determined and ambitious and edgy and strong but also with grace."
