In a new interview, the retired NFL tight end admits that he is left surprised after learning about the rumors about his friend and former teammate's second unretirement.

AceShowbiz - Rob Gronkowski has weighed in on the rumors that Tom Brady will unretire for the second time. In a new interview, the retired NFL tight end claimed that he was surprised by the rumors about his friend and former teammate.

"That was a surprise when I saw that news," the 33-year-old told Boston.com. "It actually put me on my toes. I was very shocked when I saw that."

Rob continued, "I feel like Tom is definitely totally done playing." While he admitted that he hasn't spoken directly to the superstar quarterback about the decision, Rob believed that Tom bid his final goodbye to the field in his second retirement announcement.

"Just from everything I saw from his retirement video and everything I just feel like he is just done playing football. It was just very shocking though when I heard that news the other day," he opined.

Tom himself denied the speculations that he would come out of retirement for the second time. The 45-year-old former quarterback denied a report that he's returning to play for the National Football League from NFL Network anchor Rich Eisen.

The seven-time Super Bowl champion, who announced his retirement last month, clapped back at Rich's words via Twitter on March 7. "Anyone who thinks I have time to come back to the NFL has never adopted a 2-month-old kitten for their daughter," he wrote at the time.

Rich made the claims on his show "The Rich Eisen Show". "Number one rumor I heard at the [NFL] Combine? Not in terms of chatter, but this one just blew my mind: Tom Brady may not be done after all," the sports commentator said. "A couple of people were just like, 'Hang on, just you wait.' And I'm like, 'He's Instagramming out [pictures] of his cat, you know?' But it doesn't look like he's getting big and fat, does it? Let it play out. Let's see who wants what."
