Fans can't help revisiting the 'Hunger Games' star's fall at the 2013 Academy Awards after the 'Eyes of Tammy' actress takes a nasty tumble when accepting SAG award for 'George and Tammy'.

AceShowbiz - Jessica Chastain did Jennifer Lawrence at the 29th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards. The "Interstellar" actress got compared to her "Dark Phoenix" co-star after she took a tumble at the Sunday, February 26 ceremony.

At the 2023 SAG Awards, Chastain won the award for best actress in a TV movie or limited series for her role as country music star Tammy Wynette on Showtime's "George & Tammy". When walking up the stairs to take the prize, she had a nasty fall.

Thankfully, the 45-year-old actress received some much-needed assistance from a gentleman who gave her a hand as she headed to the stage, saving her from further embarrassment. Irish actor Paul Mescal, who was on hand as presenter, also rushed to her aid.

Following the fall, viewers took to social media to compare her to Lawrence, who infamously tripped on the stairs at the 2013 Oscars. "Jessica Chastain did the JLaw fall," one Twitter user wrote. Another quipped, "Jessica Chastain honoring Jennifer Lawrence's fall."

"Jessica Chastain fell up the stairs," a third person simply remarked. Another claimed that they were always dreading the moment, "Thrilled with the small amount of steps at the #SAGAwards I've spent 70% of my life worrying about actresses falling up stairs. UPDATE: 10 seconds after I tweeted this Jessica Chastain fell up the stairs. I blame me."

Following the nasty fall, Chastain spoke with ET and brushed off the tumble. "I am the one who never expects this is going to happen," she said of her big win. "Yeah, I fell on the stairs, that's good because some people didn't know that I did."

"The Hurt Locker" star blamed her big dress for the embarrassing moment. "I was trapped in my dress and I had very nice men helping me, so that was a plus," she said. For the ceremony, she wowed in a fuchsia off-the-shoulder gown from Zuhair Murad.

On the stage, Chastain delivered a motivational message to aspiring and struggling actors as she said, "I'm doing a show right now in New York, I'm doing 'A Doll's House' and every day after the show I get to meet people at the stage door and I meet a lot of actors, who tell me their stories and it reminds me of when I was in college."

She continued, "Philip Seymour Hoffman came to speak to my class and I told all his frustrating stories about auditions and he encouraged us to keep going even when we thought no one was watching us. And he said at the end of the talk, 'I look forward to working with each of you'. It really shocked me because it was like he brought it into being. A few years later it came true and I had the opportunity to do a play with him."

"I'm telling this story right now because it reminds me of how powerful our mind is and what our thoughts can do," the Oscar-winning actress added, "so I want to tell everyone who might be struggling at home, to all the actors I get to meet, 'Keep going, you're one job away. I look forward to working with you, I'll see you on set and I love you.' "
