AceShowbiz - Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes' fate on "GMA3: What You Need to Know" has been decided. The pair are officially out of ABC News after having a mediation session with the network executives.

"After several productive conversations with Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes about different options, we all agreed it's best for everyone that they move on from ABC News," an ABC News spokesperson said on Friday evening, January 27. "We recognize their talent and commitment over the years and are thankful for their contributions."

Amy and T.J. have been suspended from "Good Morning America" since December 2022 following the bombshell expose of their romance. ABC News' President Kim Godwin made the decision because their scandal caused "internal and external distraction."

"These decisions are not easy, they are not knee-jerk, but they are necessary for the brand and for our priority which, you guys know, are all of us - the people here at ABC," Kim reportedly told employees on a conference call at the time.

Meanwhile, it was reported earlier this week that Amy would not accept if T.J. was given a harsher punishment than her own. It is additionally said that race "will become an issue" if T.J. was disciplined or fired, especially if white employees with similar scandals are never given the same punishment.

Despite living under public scrutiny, Amy and T.J. seemingly tries to live their best lives. The two reportedly escaped New York as Amy was spotted at JFK Airport on Tuesday. "They are on leave, so they may as well spend the time wisely - and away from the spotlight," an insider close to the couple told Page Six.

Another source added that "they want to lay low," noting that "few people know they're together." The source points out, "[The nonstop coverage of the scandal] is becoming exhausting. They underestimated that when something like this happens, other skeletons come out. And they're still married."
