The 'Good Morning America' co-anchors reportedly 'wouldn't dare be caught together' in public while the network carries out an internal probe into their affair.

AceShowbiz - Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes have not been seen together in public lately and it's not without a reason. They are reportedly keeping their distance for the time being amid ABC's internal review of their affair.

A source told Daily Mail the couple is putting their romance on hold as "they wouldn't dare be caught together now, not while ABC is making a decision." The so-called insider added, "Their marriages are over, but they have children to think about and they don't want to jeopardize their futures with the network any more than they already have."

Amy told the U.K. news outlet last week when walking her dog Brody in her New York City neighborhood, "It's sort of over now," when asked how she was doing.

This attitude was in contrast to the brazen display that Amy and T.J. put on when they were co-hosting "GMA3" on Friday, December 2 following the bombshell expose, before being taken off the air. At the time, the two joked about their affair scandal.

When T.J. jokingly said it's a "great week," Amy asked, "Is it?" T.J. added, "I just want this one to keep going and going and going. Just enjoying it." However, when he advised Amy to "take it all in," the "20/20" co-anchor replied, "Speak for yourself."

On Monday, December 5, ABC News' President Kim Godwin made the decision to temporarily bench the two "Good Morning America" co-anchors after their affair scandal has caused "internal and external distraction." She announced, "I am going to take Amy and T.J. off the air while we figure this out. While the relationship is not a violation of company policy, I really have taken the last few days to think about and work through what I think is best for the ABC News organization."

Earlier this week, Godwin emailed staffers to share the update regarding Amy and T.J.'s current status on the show amid ongoing internal investigation. "Amy and T.J. will remain off-air pending the completion of an internal review, and there will be a rotation of anchors at 'GMA3' for the time being," read the email.

She added, "I understand that the continuing coverage can be distracting from the incredibly important work our team does here at ABC News. It is my hope that we will continue to focus our energy on what we do best, and I want all of you to know how immensely proud I am of your hard work and professionalism."
