Set 1,200 years before the events of 'The Witcher', the prequel series will explore the creation of the first prototype Witcher and the events leading to the Conjunction of the Spheres.

AceShowbiz - Netflix has unveiled the first teaser trailer of "The Witcher: Blood Origin", the prequel series of "The Witcher". Released on Thursday, November 10, the new video introduces Michelle Yeoh's sword-elf Scian.

The teaser opens with Scian, the last member of a nomadic tribe of sword-elves, carrying out a ritual. She is later joined by Sophia Brown's Eile and Laurence O'Fuarain's Fjall on a quest to retrieve a blade stolen from her people.

It continues to share a glimpse of violence, devastation and magic in otherworldly, high-fantasy settings. Toward the end of the teaser, it is revealed that it is Eile, a warrior of the Queen's guard who leaves to become a traveling musician, who is singing the hauntingly beautiful song that plays in the background.

"The Witcher: Blood Origin" is set 1,200 years before the events of "The Witcher". The prequel series will explore the creation of the first prototype Witcher and the events leading to the Conjunction of the Spheres.

Also starring on the upcoming four-episode series are Mirren Mack as Merwyn, Lenny Henry as Balor, Jacob Collins as Eredin, Lizzie Annis as Zacare and Huw Novelli as Callan "Brother Death". The cast also includes Francesca Mills as Meldof, Amy Murray as Fenrik, Nathaniel Curtis as Brian, Zach Wyatt as Sundril and Dylan Moran as Uthrok One-Nut.

Sarah O'Gorman and Vickey Jewson direct "Blood Origin". Meanwhile, Declan de Barra serves as executive producer and showrunner. Lauren Schmidt Hissrich executive produces, with author Andrzej Sapkowski serving as a creative consultant on the series. Joining as executive producers are Hivemind's Jason Brown and Sean Daniel, along with Platige Films' Tomek Baginski and Jarek Sawko.

"The Witcher: Blood Origin" is slated to arrive on Netflix on December 25.
