AceShowbiz - The hip-hop community sadly lost two of its great talents in just a week. After Takeoff's shooting death, it's now revealed that influential Nuyorican rapper Hurricane G has passed away at 52 years old after battling lung cancer.

Confirming the sad news was Erick Sermon, the daughter of Hurricane G's daughter Lexus Cannon. "My heart is hardened today," he wrote on Instagram on Sunday, November 6 along with a throwback picture of the late rap star. "One of my good friends…. my oldest daughter's mother passed away today #HURRICANEGLORIA was also a legend in her own right in the hip-hop community."

He went on paying tribute to her, "One of the first Puerto Rican female rappers She rapped with me. @redmangilla she paved the way @keithmurray @diddy she was in all the hip-hop magazines with all the top females at the time.. #stretchandbobito loved a song that she did called 'MILKY.' She will be missed all around the world. I can't believe this. Pray for us. Beautiful blessings. She was a beautiful person a wonderful mother as real as they come. We love u G."

Meanwhile, Hurricane G's daughter Lexus posted her own page a picture of her and her smiling mother from her birthday back in May of this year. She wrote in the caption, "I just lost my f**king heart [a broken heart emoji] this s**t cant be real ma wtf am I supposed to do without you."

Consoling his grieving daughter, Erick wrote in the comment section, "DADDY loves u. God has us covered in the blood." He added several heart and praying hands emojis in a separate comment.

Lexus previously shared the same picture to announce her mother's cancer diagnosis. "My mom has stage 4 lung cancer," she revealed at the time. "I don't know how many of you understand what that means but even after 30 years of life I'm still trying to process it myself. I have never cried so much in my life I have never felt so disconnected from reality in my life."

Hurricane G, born Gloria Rodríguez, was an American rapper of Puerto Rico descent. She was best known for being the first female member of the East Coast collective Hit Squad and had been featured on songs by Redman, Xzibit, Sean "P. Diddy" Combs and many other OG powerhouse artists. Her 1997 single release "Somebody Else" charted at #10 by Billboard Magazine on Hot Rap Singles.

Following the news of her passing, tributes have poured in from the hip-hop community. Producer Pete Rock posted a video of Hurricane G rapping with the caption, "I can't believe this. I just spoke to her about a month ago."

Domingo Padilla, who produced Hurricane G's debut album, remembered her, "Gloria was a really kind hearted, funny person but when she was mad stay out her way… LOL." He said he's "gonna miss speaking to her on the phone and hear her say 'Domingo you got that funky a** fire for me or what motherf**ker.' "

Rah Digga added, "I feel crazy posting back-to-back death like this but #HurricaneG is family as well as a legend and my good sis deserves her flowers. Rest easy my G."
