Mariana Varela and Fabiola Valentin, who met while competing in the 2020 Miss Grand International beauty pageant, reveal on social media that they got married last month after having kept their relationship out of the public eye.

"After deciding to keep our relationship private, we opened the doors on a special day," the couple wrote in a joint message on both of their Instagram pages. The newlyweds also indicated that they got married on October 28.
The post featured a montage of their sweet moments. It included clips of them traveling together as well as their marriage proposal. To create romantic moment, they decorated the room with rose petals, red-and-white balloons as well as gold and silver balloons spelling "Marry Me?"
The lovebirds also showed off similar diamond rings after the wedding. At the end of the video, the couple was seen posing and kissing each other outside a courthouse in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Miss Grand International organizer sent well wishes to the couple in the comments section. "Congratulations to both of you," the organization wrote on Instagram. "Congratulations to both of you. MGIO always support 'LOVE' without boundariesī¸."
Also showing support for them was fellow beauty contestants such as Miss Grand International Abena Akuaba and Miss Grand Philippines 2021 Samantha Bernardo. "Omg congratulations MGI brought together a beautiful union," Akuaba said. Bernardo, meanwhile, penned, "Omg! Congratulations sisters! Lovelovelove!"
Varela thanked fans and friends for the love and support. "Thanks for all the love! We are very happy and blessed. I wish you that the love you are giving us comes back multiplied! Infinite thanks," she wrote in a comment.
Varela (26) and Valentin (22) met last March when they competed in the Miss Grand International beauty pageant in Thailand. Shortly after the competition, which saw the two women making it to the Top 10, Valentin took to her Instagram account to share a picture of them embracing.
Alongside the snap, Valentin penned in the caption, "One of the great gifts in this experience was your friendship, walking this process with you was a special and real one. I miss you, my girl @marianajvarela."
