AceShowbiz - Another Elvis Presley is coming to the big screen. Following Austin Butler's much-raved iteration of the late singer in Baz Luhrman's "Elvis", Jacob Elordi is going to portray the King of Rock and Roll in a new movie.
Now, pictures from the set of Sofia Coppola's upcoming film "Priscilla" have leaked online, giving first look at Jacob as Elvis and actress Cailee Spaeny as Elvis' wife Priscilla Presley. They were photographed during the filming in Toronto, Canada on Monday, October 24.
The "Euphoria" star donned a blue three-piece blue suit and sported dark hair, while the "Mare of Easttown" actress rocked a pink dress with a large updo to channel the famous It Couple from 1960s. They stood near a red convertible while being surrounded by the filming crew.
In another picture, Jacob traded the formal outfit for a black-and-white striped shirt and black tight shorts that are perfect for the summertime. Cailee matched his look in a black-and-white floral dress as they filmed a romantic scene, in which the actor hugged his co-star from the back.
Produced by A24, "Priscilla" is based on Priscilla's 1985 memoir "Elvis and Me", which detailed the ups and downs of the couple's romance. Priscilla, who met Elvis when she was 14 years old, was married to the musician for six years before their divorce was finalized in 1967. Their only child together, daughter Lisa Marie Presley, was born on February 1, 1968, exactly nine months after their wedding.
Jacob has big shoes to fill following Austin's portrayal of the late singer in "Elvis", which was released in the summer. Priscilla even sang praise for the movie and the actor, writing on Facebook in April after a special screening of the flick, "Austin Butler, who played Elvis is outstanding. Bravo to him…he knew he had big shoes to fill. He was extremely nervous playing this part. I can only imagine."
Priscilla added, "The story, as we all know, does not have a happy ending. But I think you will understand a little bit more of Elvis' journey, penned by a directer [sic] who put his heart and soul and many hours into this film."
