The Yeezy designer hires Robert Stephan Cohen from Cohen Clair Lans Greifer Thorpe and Rottenstreich LLP after his fifth lawyer, Samantha Spector, withdrew from his case.

AceShowbiz - Kanye West has found a replacement in his legal team amid Kim Kardashian divorce. It was unveiled that the "Donda" artist has hired Melinda Gates' former lawyer to move forward with the divorce proceedings.

The Yeezy designer has signed Robert Stephan Cohen as his sixth lawyer. A representative for the attorney at Cohen Clair Lans Greifer Thorpe & Rottenstreich LLP confirmed the news to Page Six.

TMZ, on the other hand, reported that Ye also hired attorney Nicholas A. Salick in California because the court case is being tried in Los Angeles. Robert, meanwhile, is based in New York.

This arrived after Ye parted ways with his fifth divorce lawyer, Samantha Spector. Months after filing a motion to be relieved as the "N***as in Paris" hitmaker's counsel, a judge finally approved it during Ye and Kim's trial-setting conference on Friday, August 5.

The judge reportedly informed the court that the billionaire emcee needed to take action and submit his financial declarations to settle lingering issues. If not, the case would head to trial in December.

Samantha, who represented Nicole Young in her divorce from Dr. Dre, filed her motion in May. According to documents obtained by Entertainment Tonight, she has served Kanye with the motion and has communicated with him via email and through post, as well as through his new attorney, Deborah Hong.

The motion stated, "Attorney has communicated with Ms. Hong, an attorney-at-law, who has confirmed she is acting on behalf of Ye and should receive all communications directed to him."

Kenye was previously represented by Chris Melcher. However, he fired Chri as his lawyer because their relationship had become "extremely difficult," with little communication between them. It was also said that the rapper may have been a difficult client to work with because at times, he had said he wanted to settle things with Kim, and at others, he expressed a desire to put up a fight.
