AceShowbiz - Drake and other hip-hop artists are mourning the loss of Patrick Wayne Stay. After reports broke that the battle rapper was fatally stabbed in Canada, the "God's Plan" hitmaker and others took to their respective social media accounts to offer their final tributes.
Making use of Instagram Story on Sunday, September 4, Drake shared a photo of the late emcee, who recently dissed The Game over Eminem. In the accompaniment of the post, he wrote, "RIP to the Sucka Free Boss @patstay_902 one of my fav rappers ever."
Another rapper JIMZ penned on Twitter, "This pat stay news is tragic .. I spoke to pat all the time and it was always non stop laughter .. just a genuinely happy person who made jokes all day." He added. "We even joked when we spoke about being fathers and had an idea to have a 'who's a better/worse father' battle .. smh RIP."
" 'I can moonwalk with steel toe boots on' Rest in peace Pat Stay," producer The Alchemist tweeted. "Battle Rap icon and king. If u know me u know i always thought he was the best. I'm hurt."
Pat, who was 36 years old, became the victim of a fatal stabbing in downtown Halifax, Nova Scotia early Sunday. According to the press release, police were called to the 1600 block of Lower Water Street around 12:36 AM.
Upon their arrival, police discovered a male "suffering from injuries consistent with being the victim of a stabbing." The victim was rushed to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead. No arrests have been made.
Meanwhile, fellow battle rapper Dizaster warned that footage of Pat stumbling out of a club may be coming out. "PLEASE I BEG U ALL TO SHARE THIS TWEET . THERE MIGHT BE FOOTAGE OF PAT STUMBLING OUT OF THE CLUB , SOMEONE FOLLOWED HIM WITH A CAMERA. DO NOT SHARE THE FUCKIN FOOTAGE . IF U RESPECT HIM AND LOVE HIM U REPORT AND DESTROY ANY CHANNEL OR ACCOUNT TRYNA GET VIEWS OFF HIM. PERIOD," so read the post.
